Now Open: El Capitan Taqueria at 1123 Folsom St., in the former location of Citizen’s Band soon be joined by Anton’s Pizza and Deli, which is moving into the adjacent space next door. The inexpensive menu is standard taqueria fare, with burritos, quesadillas, and a few larger plates like enchiladas. Anton’s menu is already posted in the window, and in addition to the standard pizza offerings, they’ll have deli items like turkey, roast beef, and ham sandwiches. Hours will be 10:30am-10pm Monday-Thursday, 11am-11pm Friday-Saturday, and 11am-5pm Sunday.

Opening in April: Dumpling Time at 11 Division St., will specialize in handmade chinese and Japanese-style dumplings and craft beer. Made by hand in a special on-site “dumpling room,” customers can choose from a variety of desired wrappers and fillings, such as Wagu beef, seafood, chicken and vegetables. Up to five different dumpling shapes will be available, as well as a choice of unique dumpling skins made from different flours, or colored with beets and spinach. Open for both lunch and dinner, it will seat up to 70 people, with a covered patio with room for another 20.

New and Improved: South Park, located off 2nd Street now boasts completely new landscaping, a state-of-the-art children’s play area, an accessible walkway, performance stages, and more. South Park was considered fashionably upscale when it was built in 1854 to reflect the picturesque strolling parks found in London. The neighborhood was destroyed in the 1906 earthquake, and it wasn’t until the early 1980s, when neighbors formed the South Park Improvement Association, that efforts began to renovating the aging public park.
