San Francisco’s residential construction boom continues, with a record 69,000 new residential units in the pipeline as the City tries to accommodate the thousands of people drawn here from around the world as Silicon Valley continues to reign as the world capital of tech.
Among them, there are 10 residential projects scheduled to open this year that will add thousands of units to the city’s housing – from luxury highrises in the TransBay area to the attractive affordable units in a brand new neighborhood, San Francisco Shipyard.
Additionally, the Bay Area has 19 Mega-Projects of over 1,000,000 square feet currently in the works (another record), with 10 in San Francisco alone. This meteoric rise of the City as a premiere business and tourism destination is why San Francisco was just named the most expensive travel destination in America, with New York as second.
